ppp.log on Android 7 device

I think you can see it yourself - all those modem messages during the PPP negotiations have no business of being there.

Thanks, was able to install PPP Widget 2 now, log is https://da.gd/YvdAv
It worked with some earlier PPP Widget 2 version about 2 years ago on the same tablet.

So it's basically the same problem.

Did you do something with the modem perhaps? Permanent configuration change (there are AT commands to do that) or firmware update?

No, nothing was done to the modem.

I'm out of ideas ...

The only thing left to do is to try all ports manually (0 - 2) if you haven't done this already.

I've tried. Is it possible to get 22 Apr 2015 version, I see from my message in this thread it worked then? Or could it be possible for you to check the changes from then until now?

Good idea, I'll do that.

Furthermore, I have just ordered a used MF628. It's worth to have such 'peculiar' devices on the desk to conduct cruel experiments on them 8)

I gave up on tracing back the changes in the PPP network building code between PPP Widget 2 v. 1.2.3 and PPP Widget 3. Too many possibilities to try and test ...

I'll wait for my MF628 to arrive and I'll make it work. Shouldn't be too long as it will arrive from Austria which is practically next door to Germany.

As the latest announcement said, I was away travelling for a while.

Obtaining a MF628 was kind of tough. These things must be ancient.
Twice, I was promised one, only to discover on arrival that I got a MF626 instead ...

Anyway, I finally received it and was able to enjoy its peculiarities in full bloom.

I just uploaded a new PPP Widget version (1.1.9) which I adapted to and tested with the ZTE MF628.
