Update:
I downgraded to android 5.1.1 rooted and using similar custom kernel can get everything to work including google services.I can say this app/widget don't work with marshmallow for google services.

Having one glitch as i connect modem to tablet, it give me no response from modem message. If i delete the widget and them place it back on a screen it pick up every thing fine and let me connect.

seems like app give 8 sec for modem to fully initialize which is not long enough time for my HUAWEI .

any help will be appreciated,

Thanks.

I have no device with Android 6 yet for testing. So this is completely untested.
There were however some positive reports from other 'pioneers'.

Note that there are some tricks involved to make Android 'officially' accept the modem connection from PPP Widget 2. This can easily be broken by changes in the Android code (by manufacturers or in new minor version updates).

If these tricks don't work, only apps will access the network which don't 'ask' the Android system about the network status. K9 (mail client) does work, for instance.

The PPP Widget apps are intended for users who can't change their stock firmware apart from rooting.
Custom firmwares could easily provide full support for USB modems through the mobile data subsystem - no tricks required!
