"Transmission failed" means that it was not even possible to contact the modem.

In comparison, if you get "no answer" then the 'question' at least was sent O.K. (with a 'receipt' back).

By the way, there is yet annother update ready.

I did a little change which might affect your setup. The disabling of the USB power-save is now reported in the log, and also it is done in a different stage, not just during mode switching.

according to the log usb power-save is not implemented in my device (kernel attribute missing)

I captured ADB log of the widget after wake up.

On wake up some error messages are visible. USB halt comes only when I press the activate search button ca. 20 sec after wake up.
Do you think that the search could be automated somehow?

Does that mean you were connected when the modem went to sleep ??

I just pressed the power button to sleep the tablet. I have not clicked on disconnect before.

... but also sometimes the modem is not found even if I press disconnect in a clean way before sleep.
It would be nice if the sleep/wake cases could be further stabilized. I would be happy to provide further logs if needed.

The central problem is that I have found no way to get a wake-up notification from the system.

The only solution I see is to somehow keep the modem from going into powersave mode.
I have applied some changes regarding the powersave disabling option. It should now be reflected in the USB log. Can you see it?

No, as I wrote earier power save disabling is not implemented according to the log usb in my device (kernel attribute missing).
Anyway I would actually like to disconnect my modem from the external power source during sleep and so disabling powersave would not necessarily help.
Whatabout using ACTION_SCREEN_ON and ACTION_SCREEN_OFF events?

Are there any plans to improve support for sleep and wake-up?
