Globe Trotter HSxPA – Diagnostic Interface (COM4) Ports (COM and LPT)
Globe Trotter HSxPA – Network Interface #2 Network cards
In the Device Manager / Modems two modems can be found:
- GlobeTrotter HSxPA - Modem Interface

Both modems have the same hardware identifier: optionbus\gt72f_mdm !!

The GlobeTrotter HSxPA - Modem Interface – Properties / Diagnostics procedure results the following log:

The GlobeTrotter HSxPA - Modem Interface #2 – Properties / Diagnostics procedure results “No Modem Reply” ERROR Message.

To check the problem of identical hardware identifier I used Hyper Terminal-CM software to communicate with the modem.
On COM3 (belongs to GlobeTrotter HSxPA - Modem Interface) I could repeat all the AT commands used in the diagnostic procedure with the same response, while on COM4 (belongs to GlobeTrotter HSxPA - Modem Interface #2) there was no response for any command.

Finally, on the same HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC in Oracle VM VirtualBox Android-x86 the PPP Widget 3 version 1.3.3b2 gave similar logs to the tablet’s responses:

'Option' devices use their own different serial protocol named HSO. This is not implemented yet in PPP Widget.

I always wanted to look into it but there are not many Option modems around nowadays, it seems.
Anyway, I'll look again.

Dear Josh,
thank you for your fast response. If I can help you as "user" in your work, I am ready and pleased to do it. I have an Option modem, and I can test any beta version, or collect information related to the device.
