USB_ModeSwitch

i just affraid if actually my adapter cannot supply power for the usb dongle, i'm using GTab 8.9 P7310. i'm using this one http://www.amazon.com/SUNVELL-LZ4L00000 ... B009R6C402 and it's working for flashdrive but not for mouse/keyboard (i dont know why maybe the rom)
does this OTG have the same thing? or have better power than mine? http://www.amazon.com/SANOXY-Female-Ada ... f_dp_p_t_1

The cable brand is irrelevant. You need a hub with external power. The tablet most likely doesn't deliver the full 500 mA.

I have a Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 - there is no way 3G dongles work without a powered hub.

Look at this thing for example:

It can get the power from the Samsung charge adapter.

Or you hook a standard hub (with external AC adapter) to your OTG adapter:

i have usb powered hub for my pc (like 2nd one from your link) with 10 bus. i try plug the power, insert some flashdrive, and plug the usb cable to my OTG and plug it to the tab but nothing happen. does the system confuse with the 10 hub so he cant decide which one is used?

Sometimes the order of plugging is important.

On my Galaxy Tab I plug in the OTG cable first, then I connect power to the hub, then connect the hub to the OTG - then I insert the 3G stick; all steps with a moment or two in between to give the hardware and drivers time to react.

On my Archos 70, it's even more delicate: I have to connect the hub to the OTG, then insert the 3G stick and then immediately the power to the hub ...

The USB host function of tablets is generally not as robust as that of desktop PCs.

i've tried all possibility to plug the device but still nothing happen. does my adapter type can be the cause? do i have to use the OTG one which is just cable and the usb port at the end?

There is no other way. The wide plug for the Samsung side has a wiring that tells the tablet to switch from USB device mode to USB host mode.

I have a cheap and simple adapter too, and it's working well on my GT-P5113 with a four-port powered hub.

when i plug my modem directly, the widget ready to connect. but when i click connect the light at the modem turned off. look like it needs more power.
i get my powered hub, plug the modem, and connect the hub to the adapter but nothing happen. look like the widget didn't detect the modem that plugged via powered hub.

Your adapter is actually more than a simple USB port. It provides a card reader and a USB socket; these count as two devices.

In order to provide two devices, there must already be a hub built into the adapter. So you have additional error sources and two more power consumers (internal hub and card reader).

My OTG adapter is pretty much identical to the second one you linked. Just a cable.

Regarding your 10-port hub: are you sure it can provide 500 mA on each of those ports? Then its AC adaptor must be able to deliver at least 5 A which is quite a load ...

hmm, i guess so. still waiting for the order, the cable one.
allright, i'll check the hub and the adaptor. and i already get another hub with 7 port from my firend to test the new otg as soon as arrived

I cant say. However, I don't trust Samsung very much.

That said, almost no manufacturer gives the USB host power specs ...

I have an Acer Iconia A500 which even has a full size USB socket. It's power is rock solid. Plus, I can connect it to my PC via MicroUSB and still use the USB host port.

Development of PPP Widget wouldn't have been possible without this fine machine.
