Hello all,
I have Huawei 1261 working with Ubunuty Hardy using usb_modeswitch. I had an old Slackware 12.1 and I thought I would get that working too. The link of my Ubuntu is:

I followed exactly the above steps for my Slackware but can't connect to the internet. I installed usb_modeswitch without any problem. I installed wvdial also. The outputs are

But still can't connect to internet. Checked to see if Firefox is in offline mode. It isn't.
