Hi All, I've been trying to make my Huawei E153 modem work with my CentOS 5.3 but i have no luck. Is there anyone here make this work?
I'am loading this confi file, it says successful but stil my modem is in storage mode..

"14ac" is a target ID. Are you sure you are not in modem mode already?
The storage device may come back after switching, on top of the serial ports.
Check with "lsusb -d 12d1:14ac".

thanks for ur response..
i checked with: lsusb -d 12d1:14ac, the result is:
Bus 002 Device 004: ID 12d1:14ac Huawei Tehnologies Co., Ltd.
Still, my modem is not detected and is in storage mode. If i check with: ls /dev/ttyUSB* it returns no result.

Maybe you can try version 1.1.5; it will try to load "usbserial" if the "option" module does not accept new IDS on the fly. I assume your kernel is a bit dated, is that right?
