We're playing Pantech 4G LTE USB Modem UML290. The vid:pid is 106c:3718.

Before switching, this device doesn't look like a storage device. In this case, can usb_modeswitch work?

Yes, I have modify the target ID of this device, and usb_modeswitch said switched success.
But I gsmmodem is still not generated.
What is strange that the log files for ttyUSBn are not found in log directory.

The dongle I'm using now is Sierra AirCard 313U. I compiled driver provided by sierra successfully, and got the driver module "sierra.ko" and "sierra_net.ko". For this dongle, according to sierra's article, it support "Direct IP" mode, but we prefer PPP to be compatible...

There are two HUAWEI dongles here. One is Orange E352 and the other is E1752.
Before switching, their vendor id and product id are the same(12d1:1446).
E352 need the new command message, but the E1752 should use the old command message.
How can i do to support both of them? Thanks!

hey! You are right! It works now!
Thank u so much!
So what is the different between the two message content?
The dongle is Orange E352 (HUAWEI) get from the France, it looks like 3.5G.
The current data of usb modeswitch cannot support this dongle. I think it should be added into the data package.

I don't have any wvdial configuration, but these are not very specific when it comes to wireless modems. Just google for "wvdial 3g" and click the first link (it should lead to a blog called "technomagus"). Use the very first configuration in the list there ("elisa") a...

On Huawei modems, the connection port is usually ttyUSB0. You got that right. I have seen reports where manual interaction with a port failed, but connection still worked when using wvdial or friends. Did you try that? If possible, Could you send me the E352 wvdial config file? I have tried to run ...

Strange Orange dongle E352 (Huawei)

Hi, all: My friend sends me a dongle from France. It's Orange E352 and the manufacturer is HUAWEI. I inserted the dongle into my Debian. The usb_modeswitch told me the "Mode switch succeeded" and "gsmmodem" is linked to "ttyUSB0". But when I send AT commands to dial, it...
