Re: Samsung Syncmaster 940UX, need help

Thanks a bunch! Your suggestion worked! But I had to change "-u 2" to "-u 1". I think Linux should do the modeswitch automatically on this model screen (and probably the others listed in the Displaylink link). Does anyone know if I should file a bug report somewhere? Is this a u...

Re: yet another device with 0bda:1a2b not switching to c811

Yes the stop/start cmd is the eject media cmd, it is usually preceded by the 06 1e cmd which is the prevent/allow media removal cmd. usb_modeswitch StandardEject is 4 cmds, allow media removal + stop unit for SCSI LUN0 and the same sequence for SCSI LUN1, this because some dongles have 2 USB Storage...

Re: Samsung Syncmaster 940UX, need help

I don't think that the virtual cd-rom can be ejected, the USB devices in the monitor are 2: 1-6.2 Displaylink 17e9:0101 1-6.3 Microchip 4-port USB 2.0 hub 0424:2514 and the hub ports are: 1-6.3.0 port 0 USB B-type connector (to computer) 1-6.3.1 port 1 SAIN INFOCOM CD-ROM 1-6.3.2 port 2 USB A-type c...

Re: yet another device with 0bda:1a2b not switching to c811

We can have another obda:1a2b based on the Manufacturer string which is Realtek in your dongle and is D-Link Corporation in the D-Link version, as reference see all the config files for 05c6:1000. First you have to find out though how to switch it, I don't have any experience with Realtek devices so...

Re: Huawei E3372h-153

The wwan0 device is created from interface #2, the network interface driven by the huawei_cdc_ncm driver, it is a high speed direct connection protocol vs the low speed serial modem dialup protocol. Your system log will show you driver bindings and the result of them. If you don't want to use direct...

Re: Huawei E3372h-153

Just out of curiosity, how do you know that the new ID will be 15d7? Is that just because there are 2 configurations and switching to the second gives a +1? I don't know that it will switch to 15d7, it is just an advanced guess but it is not related to the number of configs. You will see what it be...

Re: Huawei E3372h-153

12d1:15d6 is a new USB Id which most likely when switched will switch into 12d1:15d7. It looks like 12d1:15d6 has 2 configurations and will by default enter the second config which is an MBIM configuration. You can stop it from entering this config by editing /etc/usb_modeswitch.conf and change Disa...

That is what Mobile Broadband devices do when the antenna signal varies, it has nothing todo with USB, usb_modeswitch, or linux.

I don't know for sure, but the moment I disabled usb-modeswitch my device's WiFi worked (Though keeps switching between 4G to 3G...) But it's working. And that doesn't explain why all USB Dongle I've used on Ubuntu are suspended for several minutes before working. You must be hit by bad luck, I hav...

Re: Setting up a 05c6:6000 Qualcomm, Inc. Siemens SG75 Help please!

I think it's usb-modeswitch problem because it suspends the USB Dongle for several minutes. And can't configure properly dual mode (WiFi and Cellular data) USB Dongle. usb_modeswitch will only switch the dongle from its initial mode 05c6:f000 into 05c6:6000, after that it leaves the arena. Whatever...

Re: E3372h-320 (update 2020 version of E3372) automatically switches itself into ethernet mode

Then try it on a desktop computer running Windows or linux, this will tell if the dongle is faulty. I guess as you have done that it is related to the very old and obsolete kernel you are running, the quality of the chipidea host controller driver was poor at that time. It may help if you can force ...

The Quectel cards are ready to use immediately, they don't need switching.
They do however need operating system drivers and I doubt FreeBSD has them.
