I tried to use the at "my pick for modem" - I can then get the stick to send SMS messages, but I cannot get it to recieve, when using gammu - any ideas ??

Well I must have messed something up. I started all over with a fresh installation of Raspian. Used your Message code and Voila! It works - the stick has switched to 12d1:155e and I see now three ttyUSB objects in the log.

lsusb still shows 12d1:1f01 - no change

If I try this: usb_modeswitch -v 12d1 -p 1f01 -V 12d1 -P 14db -M '55534243123456780000000000000011063000000100010000000000000000' I get this response: Looking for target devices ... No devices in target mode or class found Looking for default devices ... found matching product ID adding device Found...

The file /etc/usb_modeswitch.d/12d1:1f01 contains now:

I have installed usb_modeswith on the raspberry with the command: apt-get install usb-modeswitch usb-modeswitch-data The Default id's og the stick are: 12d1:1f01 After installing the usb_modeswitch it is changed to 12d1:14dc - which according to this page: http://tjworld.net/wiki/Huawei/E3131UsbHspa...
