Re: Huawei K5160

need to run one of the very latest kernels, an important mbim patch got into linux around mid December last year. Your symptoms matches what happens without that patch. If you want to disable usb_modeswitch automatic selection of how to switch then you can do that by changing the DisableMBIMGlobal ...

Re: Olivetti - Olicard 300: automate driver loading

And thank sfor your further explaination. I modified my patch attempt as also suggesteed by LOM in an above post, so my final version is made up of the only following line added (I report also number of line of "option.c"): 1689 { USB_DEVICE_INTERFACE_CLASS(0x2020, 0x4000, 0xff) }, /* OLICARD300 - ...

Re: Olivetti - Olicard 300: automate driver loading

Pheraps it was a better choice by adding USB_VENDOR_AND_INTERFACE_INFO... because it is based just on the VendorId and class/subcl/prot specs.... And If we plugin an other "2020" vendor device, well it should bind option to the right interface out the box even if it has a different ProductId.... No...

Pantech/Verizon UML295: multiple modes supported

Hello, Don't know if this is already known, but just in case... David McCullough and Markus Gothe found that the UML295 supports (at least) 3 modes: 10a9:606f - unswitched 10a9:6064 - CDC ECM - default, auto-switched after a few seconds 10a9:???? - QMI - control request 0x70, wValue 4 10a9:???? - RN...

any another way to work around for BSP Kernel 3.2
You should ask whoever gave you that kernel. You are paying them for support. Use it.

Re: ZTE K4607 19d2:1040 how to switch

Hmm, to my knowledge you are always behind NAT with mobile data, no matter if you connect via PPP or Ethernet ... Am I wrong? Yup, afraid so. There is no more reason for NAT with mobile data than any other type of connection. Some operators have enough IPv4 addresses, at least for some of their use...

Re: [ New Device ] 19d2:1237 K4201 I Vodafone India 3Dongle

Just an FYI: After switch the mode, I loaded the usbserial.ko: insmod /lib/modules/3.10.49/usbserial.ko vendor=0x19d2 product=0x0017 This should not be necessary and is really just messing up things. The device is already known and handled by the option and qmi_wwan drivers. Let the system figure t...

Ah, right. Yes, that will explain the cdc_mbim driver. Then that's not related to the Huawei device after all.

Re: LTE USB Rotator Huawei E3276s-150

Modem is still not switching automagically, I have to switch it by command: usb_modeswitch -v 12d1 -p 14fe -J You haven't shown us the dmesg or lsusb -v output when it doesn't switch, but the fact that you had cdc_mbim loaded and there were wwan0 devices created prior to your manual switch makes me...

Re: Centos Modem:E3531 is not working

Your firmware version is currently not supported by linux ncm drivers, it has to be added for upcoming linux releases. It is supported by the serial option driver though but you will need a very recent option driver which has support for bInterfaceSubClass 3 (see your lsusb listing). bInterfaceSubC...
