Re: Aircard 340u

2. In cdc-num.c (I tried use the method from linux) if (!union_desc && intf->intf_assoc && intf->intf_assoc->bInterfaceCount == 2) { ctx->data = usb_ifnum_to_if(dev->udev, intf->cur_altsetting->desc.bInterfaceNumber + 1); dev_dbg(&intf->dev, "CDC Union missing - got slave from IAD\n"); } So, I set ...

Re: Aircard 340u

As I know, Vodafone K4201 does not need to modeswitch and can work fine with mbim driver Because K4201 fulfill the following judgement ( case USB_CDC_UNION_TYPE) The missing CDC Union descriptor is a known Sierra firmware bug, which affects all devices and firmwares I've seen from them so far. The ...

Re: Aircard 340u

It seem that the mode switch command has problem. After mode switch (I got a right target PID: 9051) and I find a interface 02 0e (for mbim), however, no data bulk in , data bulk out end points :( -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- usb_set_configuration...

Bjorn will also make sure that the driver patches you have done will be included in future kernels (Hi Bjorn  ) Hello :-) Actually, I would prefer if pooh2 or you just submitted them to the netdev and linux-usb lists with a proper Signed-off-by. Some help here: https://www.kernel.org/doc/Docu...

Re: Vodafone ZTE K5008-Z LTE/4G Info

Hi, According to the feedback from R&D - ZTE MBIM modems have been tested and work with 3.12.1 kernel with libmbim etc integrated. Thanks a lot. That's good to know. I wonder if this is just a matter of the Linux cdc_mbim driver not sending a MBIM OPEN when it binds to a device, but deferring this ...

Re: CSR 8510 A10 aka Sitecom CNT-524 - Bluetooth 4.0 USB dev

Update on my attempts to get my hand on a MF823: For quite a while there were few offers of this device, but either they were bound to a mobile plan or "out of stock". Of course I also stumbled upon the expensive offers you pointed at; however, they all looked pretty fishy to me. My first actual or...

Re: K4201 - Manual usb_configure

The driver for both is listed as cbc_mbim, there is no cdc_wdm driver associated with either of them. That's how it is supposed to look. The cdc-wdm driver is used by the cbc_mbim driver, but it's the cdc_mbim driver that attaches to the interfaces and therefore is listed. "lsmod" or "cat /proc/mod...

Re: Switching problem in TD-SCDMA ASB T930-S

Your device was discussed in another thread here recently (google it) and we could not come to the conclusion of what driver the device needed, it has many interfaces and many configs. I read it before i send this topic ... I have tried some but the log of usb_modeswitch report it has been success ...

Re: CSR 8510 A10 aka Sitecom CNT-524 - Bluetooth 4.0 USB dev

Thanks for the information, Bjørn. About something completely different: I'm willing to get myself one of the 'strange' new ZTE devices, to try and figure out how to mimick the Windows 8 behaviour and to reach the MBIM mode. That would be great! Can you name any specific models that are showing the...

Re: CSR 8510 A10 aka Sitecom CNT-524 - Bluetooth 4.0 USB dev

Re-reading this, I seem to have failed to notice that the traffic you logged is obviously a control transfer . This goes to endpoint 0 automatically. The "Messages" that usb_modeswitch can transmit are bulk transfers . There are some specialized functions built-in that are actually sending custom c...

Re: Vodafone ZTE K5008-Z LTE/4G Info

I think that someone of the gurus in linux_usb (= you or Dan W) should contact ZTE and get test devices + info direct from them, it is after all very much in their interest to get their dongles properly linux supported without us having to dig for the info all the time. Maybe it has already been tr...

LOM: Yes, you were right. The ProdID does come up as 1030 before "switching" and usb_modeswitch is not required . Here's the screenshot. $cat /proc/bus/usb/devices Bus=01 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=00 Cnt=01 Dev#= 6 Spd=480 MxCh= 0 D: Ver= 2.00 Cls=ef(misc ) Sub=02 Prot=01 MxPS=64 #Cfgs= 3 P: Vendor=19d2 ...

Re: Vodafone ZTE K5008-Z LTE/4G Info

Thanks for the report, this is most likely one of ZTE's new Win8 certified dongles and ZTE has a somewhat unconventional way of switching those. The dongle will appear for a short time as 19d2:1030 (check your dmesg after hotplugging it) and will after some time (within 10 sec) switch automatically...

Re: HowTo use usb_modeswitch on Ubuntu Lucid in Toshiba

sudo modprobe usbserial vendor=0x05c6 product=0x6500 Sorry, but this is bad advice. It will "work", but is not the preferred solution. High speed serial devices like 3G/LTE modems should use the option driver or similar high speed drivers. And the device IDs should be added to the appropriate drive...

Re: Quanta MobileGenie 4G lte 0408:ea43

You can put the echo cmd in your startup script together with loading of the driver modules. modprobe usbserial modprobe usb_wwan modprobe option echo "0408 ea47" > /sys/bus/usb-serial/drivers/option1/new_id For testing if the device has a qmi interface then don't invoke the echo to the option driv...
