Re: Attempting to setup E5372s-32

12d1:1c05 is not an id that a working E5372 should get, it is a debug id which you have ended up with because something went wrong when you flashed it. The 3 serial interfaces are for testing, it is possible that the modem function (ttyUSB0) is fully working but you do at least need a ppp dial-up pr...

Re: Huawei E3372s-153

Your 1st switch cmd is successful, it switches the dongle from 12d1:1f01 to 12d1:14dc Your 2nd switch cmd fails because the dongle has already switched, it no longer has the usb id 12d1:1f01 Your 3rd switch cmd fails because you can not switch 12d1:14dc, that is the id after switching and you can no...

Re: 1&1 ZTE MF710M fails to set up

The response error is normal for ZTE devices, it did not prevent it from getting switched. It is possible that the dongles connection to the tower is controlled by a mfgr proprietary AT cmd on one of the serial ports so that you can start/stop the connection. You'll need a users manual or AT cmd man...

Re: 1&1 ZTE MF710M fails to set up

Nothing wrong, usb_modeswitch has done its job and switched the dongle from 19d2:1588 to 19d2:1592, it is not supposed to do more than that. The cdc_ether driver has created a usb0 ethernet device which you have to handle like you handle a wired ethernet connection, ie dhcp pull an ip address from i...

Re: Chinese 4G LTE USB Stick (Qualcomm MDM 9200): Serial AT commands anyone?

05C6:6000 is a Qualcomm transport Id which the company who bought them should have replaced with his own unique Id. Many of Qualcomm's customer have not done this and therefore there are umpteen different versions of 05C6:6000 some of them more than ten years old.. Siemens SG75 is one of the first f...

Re: Huawei E3131 what are my possibilities?

12d1:14db and 12d1:14dc are two commonly used USB Id's in HiLink firmwares, they are used by a couple of different dongles and they provide a cdc_ether net interface and no serial interfaces. One option if your head unit doesn't speak cdc_ether is to look on the net for another firmware (stick mode ...

Re: D-Link DWM-222 HW version A2 error in 2.6.0

Default vendor and product Id is not used inside the device config files from the usb_modeswitch datapack- the name of the config file holds the Id. The only time you need the default USB Id within the device config file is when you manually invoke usb_modeswitch from a cmdline with the -c switch an...

Re: Huawei E5576-320 setup

Yes the switch message I gave you is what usb_modeswitch uses for HuaweiNewMode. Looking at my interface listing for 12d1:155e I see now that neither huawei_cdc_ncm nor cdc_ncm will handle that dongle, the ncm interface has standard ncm class/subclass/proto attributes instead of Huawei proprietary a...

Re: Huawei E5576-320 setup

You will not be able to use the dongle in ncm mode (12d1:155e) under linux 3.12 without the huawei_cdc_ncm driver which was introduced in the end of linux 3 or in the beginning of linux 4. linux 3.12 just doesn't have it, it is too old. It is a small helper driver taking care of Huawei special ncm q...

So your choice is apparently not saved through a reboot, I don't know if that is possible so Josh will have to reply to you when he is back.

Re: ZTE MF110 mode switch sequence on Android

Sorry, I thought you was trying to get it working without pppwidget and did the mode switching yourself.
I have now no idea why you don't see the same number of serial interfaces as pppwidget does.

Re: ZTE MF110 mode switch sequence on Android

I've got a list of all vendorId/productId I want to interact with and I've managed to find my UsbDevice. The problem is that the device only shows 1 port (in the UsbSerialDriver) and/or 1 interface with two endpoints in the UsbDevice itself. What was the device initial USB Id? How did you switch th...

Re: Quanta 0408:ea25 switch failed

Looking at the linux drivers I see that there is no support for Quanta 1K3M yet so adding temporarily support for it by echoing the device id to the new_id function as Josh suggested will get part of the dongle working. It is not a good longtime solution though and it will only give you a serial ppp...

Re: Quanta 0408:ea25 switch failed

Modeswitch can change device ID to 0408:ea26, but the usb is still storage. Not the same storage device as in 0408:ea25 which created a sr device ie a virtual cd-rom. 0408:ea26 created a sd device ie a disk device which is for the TF/SD card in the dongle. Why did you cut the log at that point? The...
