Hi,
I have a Huawei E3372 which I switched into 12d1:1442 mode via the command:
Code: Select all
sudo usb_modeswitch -v 0x12d1 -p 0x1f01 -V 0x12d1 -P 0x14dc -M "55534243000000000000000000000011060000000000000000000000000000"
Is there a way to switch it back? I've tried a few commands but none of them seem to be working.
Also related to this, I'm running Ubuntu 14.01.3, kernel version 3.19. Every time the machine boots, the modem is in 1f01 mode, but I'd like it to be in 14dc mode. What's the best way to do this?
Thanks!

usb_modeswitch switches E3372 from 12d1:1f01 to 12d1:14dc so you don't need to do anything else than making sure your old Ubuntu build has a recent usb_modeswitch version with support for 12d1:1f01.

I don't know any device that can be 'switched back' with a command. It's a one-way street.
The only possibility is to toggle power to the modem. Some USB host hardware is said to be able to do this. Never tried that myself.
