Hi,
I know this is not the official Huawei support forum, but hopefully there's somebody here who had the same problem like me before.
I've got a Huawei E5330 and I read literally everywhere that first of all I have to switch the device's mode to be able to send AT commands to it. Therefore the GUI should offer a hidden page: http://192.168.8.1/html/switchProjectMode.html
My problem is quite simple: My device doesn't seem to have such a page. When I call this URL, I will be redirected to the home page.
I'm on Windows 7 and 10. Tried both via USB and Wireless LAN.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance
Re: Huawei E5330 - No switchProjectMode.html
Finally I found a solution by myself. Sorry for the inconveniences.
I switched the device's mode through the CGI web interface. Therefore I followed the first few steps of this tutorial. In the ZIP file linked there you find a handy cmd script to do this work for you.
Once the COM ports popped up as "unknown device", I installed this driver.
I had tried the driver from the Zip file before, but I don't think that was necessary.

In case anybody stumbles on this post later on...
I wrote a blog post with a step-by-step tutorial: https://devallthethings.wordpress.com/2 ... mode-html/

Re: Huawei E5330 - No switchProjectMode.html
You have brought your device into Software Download Mode, a mode that uses special serial drivers, a mode not intended to be available to an end-user.
Those serial ports may or may not have other functions than firmware download but that is device/firmware dependent with no guarantee that what works on one type of device/firmware will work on all.

Re: Huawei E5330 - No switchProjectMode.html
Yes, you're certainly right since I use the "switch mode script" from a tutorial describing how to replace the firmware.
However, for my needs this worked perfectly because it allowed me to send the necessary AT commands.
Which mode would you suggest to use? In the scripts, the requested mode is 1. Is there a documentation of available modes?

Sorry I have no idea if there are any other modes than 1 and what they in that case do.
