Hi folks,

I have a Hauwei E3276S USB modem. I'm using usb_modeswitch which is great, it's all working fine. There is however, one small issue I've yet to overcome.
After switching the mode, Linux is not detecting the new device. I have to physically unplug/plug the modem before the correct device is detected.

Here's what lsusb looks like before I run usb_modeswitch:
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 12d1:14fe Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd.

And here's what it looks like after I run usb_modeswitch (and then unplug, and plug the device again):
Bus 001 Device 006: ID 12d1:1506 Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. E398 LTE/UMTS/GSM Modem/Networkcard

Is there any way to re-detect the device without unplugging?

Hmm, that's not normal at all.

Can you specify your host system?
