LOM: Yes, you were right. The ProdID does come up as 1030 before "switching" and usb_modeswitch is not required . Here's the screenshot.

This code works for Vodafone ZTE K5008-Z LTE/4G USB Stick

I added "19d2:1032" in the usb_modeswitch.d data folder and it has the following configuration.

I will post the problem in OpenWrt forum to see if anybody has seen it.

OpenWrt uses hotplug instead of udev and the kernel is 2.6.37.6.

Here's what I have put down in the script. However, it only works at hotplug, i.e., allow the unit to bootup first, then plug in the modem. Any idea how I can make it to switch at bootup?

Josh,

Huawei E230 HSPA USB modem has the same IDs as E220 and E270, i.e., Vendor=0x12d1 Product=0x1003.

Modem port after switching is /dev/ttyUSB0

The same exact conf will also work for this model (HT-WM66).
