So finally installed 9.04 on my Eee PC 901 and trying to get ZTE working on it.

usb_modeswitch installed and makes fff5 change to ffff, BUT now it wvdial can not see modem...

--> WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.60
--> Cannot open /dev/ttyUSB0: No such device
--> Cannot open /dev/ttyUSB0: No ...

I am using Easy Peasy (geteasypeasy.com).

Tryed all 3 USB ports with no luck.

Will try to install 9.04 on it now

Just bought Asus Eee PC 901 and trying to use modem there.

Copied there my usb_modeswitch.conf and wvdial.conf.

When typing sudo usb_modeswithch it freezes here:

Correct. No problem with FF now.

But what I need to do to disconnect modem?

After pushing Disconnect I can not connect again =)

And one more.

I finally get connected with GNOME-PPP and surf in Opera, BUT FireFox didn't work at the same time! How is this possible? =)

I mean device.

If you connect and then disconnect even in GNOME-PPP you can not connect again because system does not see modem.

If you will try to Detect it with GNOME-PPP it shows

I did not get what you say, so I am trying to connect by wvdial.

And I connected for 4 seconds! =))))))

But then it automagically disconnected...

Here is my /etc/wvdial.conf

Ok this solved by checking Save password.

BUT

still can not connect:

and added

usbserial.vendor=0x19d2 usbserial.product=0xffff

to /boot/grub/menu.lst

Now:

I have done this again and before checked there was fff5 =)

But last command gave this:
