The problem was solved with the update of the Arch Linux package usb_modeswitch-2.4.0-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz . The problem in the packaging, which lead to a non-functional systemd/udev setup concerning usb_modeswitch, was resolved (see here ). Everything seems to work fine again. So thanks once more US...
